Appreciation – “The recognition & enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something.”
“A full understanding of a situation…”
It’s acknowledgment… gratitude…. recognition. It’s giving thanks.

Today for the #WARiderChallenge is a follower appreciation post. This can be dedicated to a friend, a supporter, a follower on your blog or anyone in your life you would like to thank for their support. Here is why I chose this theme today.

Wild Atlantic Rider is now 4 years old. The idea started while I was living in Dublin and was reconnecting with an old college friend, Natalie, who many of you all know as @insidetrackeventing

It was Natalie who first said “you should start a blog.” At first I wasn’t convinced that anyone would be interested in it, but Natalie believed in the idea. From there WAR was born.

From then the WAR world, although small, has expanded and I have been introduced to so many lovely people, from here in Ireland & from all over the world. It’s given me exciting opportunities, reconnected so many of you who knew & loved Giselle in Pre WAR years & I have endless cherished & documented memories with friends.

WAR has also been an outlet for me to say the things I want to say, to put it “on paper” & as a result, connect with people who feel the same way.

WAR is only here as a result of the support & interaction of you, the WARiders who follow along to hear the daily antics of Solas, Miss G and young Luca.

The messages that I receive on Instagram and here on the blog always bring a smile to my face & I want you to know that we appreciate every one of you, your messages, interactions and genuine interest in the lives of the WAR Horses. Especially Solas – cos his devious streak has often led him to be despised by many in “real” life πŸ˜‚

I fear I am going to forget someone because I am a featherhead like that but I have tagged a few people who have been here since the start on my Instagram post, to let them know I appreciate them πŸ’™πŸŒŠ

So today for your Sunday Smile Post, share a little appreciation around, or simply comment below and tag someone if you want them to know how much you appreciate them.

Happy Sunday all!

  1. I find the WordPress community is very positive and supportive. I also find it fascinating to be able to connect with people all over the world. Many of my followers are not horse people and they watch videos and ask questions about my horse or horses in general. I like reading the posts of people living in other cultures and it give me insight into their lives and cultures. I also enjoy reading the posts of other horse bloggers. We all have the same passion and the same problems!

  2. That’s for sure Anne, same passion, same problems! I also enjoy connecting and reading about other equestrians around the world.. and sometimes browsing leads me to non horsey accounts too, with some really authentic and interesting writing. I love it. Thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment.
